About Harrison
When I was about 10 years old, I wanted to have a career in sports broadcasting. Most people laughed, but I was determined. 10 years later, I’d landed that opportunity at Ferris State University (NCAA Division I). With it came a decade of self-taught broadcast and digital content creation. Along the way I gained experience in website and social media administration, communications, marketing, public relations, event planning and operations, content directing, and staff management. In my time at Ferris State, I helped to build and develop our social media platforms including:
Instagram: Created all of our team accounts, taking them from 0 to a combined 35,000 followers and counting. All of our most-engaged with posts came during my tenure as of my departure (May 2023).
YouTube: Of the over 4,800 videos produced by the page since 2009, I shot, produced, edited, and uploaded close to half of them, helping the page to pass 1 million views.
Tik Tok: With hundreds of thousands of engagements.
Twitter/X: All of our top 10 twitter posts in terms of total engagement as of my departure (May, 2023) came during my tenure at Ferris State.
Facebook: Administrated two of our pages to reach an older audience, producing several of our most-watched videos on Facebook, as well as a number of our most-engaged with posts.
During my time at Ferris State, I also served as a content director on two nationally awarded video projects (2021 & 2022).
At 30, my wife and I made a leap out to Seattle. I was lucky to dive back into a past life, where I now work at Speedo. Having been a competitive swimmer and coach, I’ve been able to tap into my skill for relating with people in that field in order to help grow Speedo’s footprint in the Northwest. At Speedo, I’ve dug deeper into marketing, salesforce, product expertise, and sponsorship fulfillment. The relationship-building nature of my position has helped me to learn how to create authentic business relationships to help our partners not just to feel like a part of the brand, but to be an actual part of our brand.
